Lazy Beaver Cottage is our happy place, and we’d love for it to become yours for a few days too.
Set in a quiet, wooded corner of Marmora, the Lazy Beaver is a private retreat made for slowing down: sunset evenings around the fire pit, slow mornings with coffee on the deck, and the river and a beach just a 5-minute walk away. With room for the whole family or a group of friends, it’s the kind of getaway you won’t want to end.
Linens, pillows, and blankets are all provided. The only thing you need to bring is yourself!

Propane BBQ outside, plus a fire pit for sunset evenings.

Quiet, calm, and family-friendly water access is a convenient 5-minute walk from the cottage. Feel free to bring down the foldable chairs and outdoor blankets provided in the cottage.

Booked the cottage for Canada Day long weekend 2024. Had a wonderful stay! Cottage is super clean. Anna and Mike were wonderful hosts, super responsive and happy to answer any questions you have. The cottage website is great too, as it talks about things to do and places to eat in the area.

Our family spent a wonderful weekend in the cottage. The cottage is nice and cozy. Children spent half a day in the river nearby. Neighbours are nice and the owner is responsive to every question we have.

The owners were very responsive to any questions we had about booking and accommodated us for a weekend rental. The cottage is very clean, especially the kitchen and bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the AC on the upper floor made sure sleeping was comfortable. It’s a pleasant walk down the lane to the river where people were swimming. We brought our dogs and it was nice to have a safe place to walk them. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms are steep but there’s a handle on the wall, so no issue for us. There’s a large bedroom downstairs for someone who can’t do stairs, and the bathroom is downstairs as well, so very accessible. Had a pleasant stay.

Cottage and the grounds were very nice and clean, large bedrooms and comfy beds. Lots included, did not need to bring much. Short walk to the river, and it was not crowded. The owner was very responsive. Overall we had a great time with my family and will be back again.

I recently had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday at this charming cottage, and it was an experience that surpassed all my expectations. The cottage itself was a delight, impeccably maintained and tastefully decorated, with an atmosphere of warmth and coziness. The owners have clearly put a lot of love and care into making it a true home away from home. The location was exceptional: within a 15-minute drive there’s a lake with a very nice beach, and it’s close to supermarkets too. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare meals, and the hosts were exceptional in their hospitality, with valuable recommendations for nearby activities.

We have a variety of places to swim around the cottage, Crowe River is a two-minute walk and there are other lakes a short drive away. You can even make a day trip to Sandbanks Provincial Park.
We had an amazing experience! Cottage was very clean and the owners (who are amazing) provided all of the essentials and more, towels, linens, paper towels, extra blankets, firewood, soaps, sunscreen, etc. The beach area was super close and, although it’s a rocky rather than sandy shoreline, the water was fantastic for swimming. It’s a great little cottage community and everyone is super friendly. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend staying here.
Isabela, thank you for your detailed feedback. We’d be happy to see you again! There is only one cottage on the property and you are not sharing it with anyone else. It sits in a small community and river access is shared with a few other cottages, it’s not public though.

I really enjoyed my stay here! The kitchen was equipped with everything needed and the patio is the perfect spot for lunch under the umbrella. And the nearby Crowe River is wonderful, really convenient since it’s so close by.
